Briefing about Jordan Cove LNG Pipeline Project

November 13, 2017 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

The Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting a program by Michael Hinrichs, Director of Communications for the Jordan Cove Pacific Pipeline Connector project, who will provide an overview of the Jordan Cove project on Monday, November 13th, 11:30 AM at the DoubleTree by Hilton. The project is a proposal to construct a 229 mile-long, 36 inch wide liquefied natural gas pipeline that would run underneath Utah, Nevada and Oregon lands and waterways. The LNG export terminal would be constructed on a sand spit (an unstable sand dune area) located in a Coastal Shoreland of the beautiful Coos Estuary, which is a shorebird habitat area and not an industrial area.  The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission denied the project in December, 2016, but the project organizers have resubmitted their application under the Trump administration hoping for a more favorable outcome. Reservations for the briefing are required and can be made by calling (970) 242-3214. Cost is $15 in advance, $20 at the door.
