As political liberals, we can all point to incidents in which we and others outside the mainstream of political and religious thought in our community have been subjected to denigration, harassment and bullying, sometimes even from elected officials and other people in positions of power. We’ve also had incidents of bullying occur lately that, after being highlighted in the news, shed light on the scale of the bullying problem in District 51 schools. Now Mesa County Moms Against Bullying is trying to do something about it. The new group will hold their first meeting on Saturday, February 17 at Goodwill on 24 1/2 Road. The purpose of the meeting is to inform attendees how the group hopes to assist parents and kids who are, or have been bullied in the past. MCMAB is seeking help from the community to raise the profile of this serious issue to the public and the school district.
