Saturday, Jan. 27 at 2:30 p.m. at Mesa County Public Library downtown Grand Junction. A compelling new documentary that explores the effects of climate change on the ocean’s coral reefs, made by the team behind 2014’s Emmy Award-winning “Chasing Ice.” The film follows an ad man, a self-proclaimed coral nerd, and features top-notch camera designers and renowned marine biologists as they invent the first time-lapse camera to record coral bleaching events as they happen. The crew ventures to remote regions of the planet, racing the clock and battling the unpredictable nature of the ocean to document this worrisome phenomenon. The imagery is an ominous warning of the planet’s future if mankind maintains its current course, but also a celebration of the most biodiverse ecosystem on the planet.
